1. Flint: Early man used Flint for making tools.
2. Microliths: Microliths is a small stone tool usually made of Flint.
3. New Stone Age: It was a period in which there was a development of human technology.
4. Chalcolithic Age: The period when metal was used along stone is called chalcolithic age.

Q1. Where did Early humans live? What did they wear?
Ans. Early humans lived in caves. They wear clothes made up from animals skin, leaves and grasses etc.

Q2. How do we know that early humans were skilful artists?
Ans: The early humans were skilful artists. We knew that from the painting, they made in the caves. They made painting of running animals dead once with the arrow struck in and bird. By painting hunting scenes they expressed their feelings. They used brown, red and white colours sometimes even yellow and green. They were natural colours found in trees, stones, minerals, flowers and charcoal.

Q3. Why is the early history of man called the stone age?
Ans: The early history of man is called the stone age, because during this period, people made and used stone tools and weapons.

Q4. Which tools were made by humans in Paleolithic Age?
Ans: The tools made by humans in Paleolithic age were scrapers and knives with blades of sharp stones.

Ans. The wheel had many uses. It helped to make better pots. The first means of transport started with the invention of wheel. It also helped to spin the thread.

Ans. During the Neolithic period, humans learnt the technique of sowing seeds, growing plants and then harvesting them. Their techniques completely changed their life They gave up their nomadic life and became food producers. They learnt to grow crops such as barley, wheat, rice, pulses, a variety of vegetables and even cotton. They also domesticated animals for a variety of purposes. Goats and cattle provided milk Sheep provided wool and the donkey was tamed for carrying loads.

Ans. Fire was extremely useful to the every humans. It provided them within means if mammoth and defense. Ans. The life of Neolithic people is very different from Paleolithic people In Paleolithic age men, women and children wandered in groups and hunted animals. They ate raw food. They moved from place to place in search of food and water but in Neolithic age there was the discovery of agriculture Human learnt the technique of sowing seeds, growing plants and then finally harvesting them. They learnt to grow crops such as barley, wheat, rice, pulses, vegetables and even cotton. They now domesticated animals for a varicty of purpose.
